Britney Spears’ Mom’s Book Details Emerge

Already on the schedule for a Mother’s Day 2008 release is the new book from Britney Spears’ mom, entitled “Pop Culture Mom: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World.” And from what we’re hearing it just may be worth the read.

Lynne Spears has been contracted by Thomas Nelson Publishers for the project, being described as “a parenting book that’s going to have faith elements to it. It’s Lynne’s personal story of raising high-profile children while coming from a low-profile Louisiana community.”

Momma Spears has been working with Lorilee Craker, her co-author, on the 200-page book, which is still in the process of being written. And Craker has already interviewed Jamie-Lynn, though it’s not confirmed if she will meet with the “Gimme More” singer.

A source told press, “It’s possible that Lorilee may end up speaking with Britney in the future but it’s not certain.” The source added, “Brit hasn’t been involved at all” up to this point. As for Lynne and Britney’s status, Craker commented, “It’s complicated… I think they are okay.”

“Pop Culture Mom” is being touted as more of a memoir than a tell-all or instructional piece of literature. And Lorilee sounds like she has the utmost respect for her co-author.

“One thing I do want to make clear is that she’s not a stage mom. People are so accusatory toward her and so judgmental of her, and it just drives me crazy because I know the real her…It’s the truth, but it’s based in love. (Lynne is) a mother and a grandmother to her core. She loves her children and her grandchildren with just enormous devotion…Lynne, first of all, is a wonderful person. She is one of the kindest, most decent people, and very down-to-earth. People would be amazed at how normal she is, but she’s living in this sort of surreal life at the same time.”
