Kate Bosworth and Geoffrey Rush Highlighting Fantasy Pic Laundry Warrior

One is a starlet known for being the former girlfriend of Orlando Bloom while the other has acted alongside the actor in "Pirates of the Caribbean" trilogy, and now the two are brought together in one big screen project.

Yes, Kate Bosworth and Geoffrey Rush have both signed on to head the cast of "Laundry Warrior", a fantasy actioner produced by "Lord of the Rings" producer Barrie Osborne, which also has Korean star Jang Dong Gun in. Tony Cox reportedly has been picked up as well with Thomas Haden Church in advanced negotiations.

Bosworth will play a young woman hell-bent on revenge for abuses in her youth who is also a circus knife thrower while Rush is a town drunk who turns out to be a fighter in retirement. Jang, in the meantime, portrays a fugitive Asian warrior hiding out in the American badlands, where Bosworth and Rush's characters reside.

The English-language heroic tale will mark the feature directorial debut of Sngmoo Lee, who also penned the script. Filming is due to begin on November 12, 2007 in Auckland, New Zealand under a $40 million budget. Accompanied Osborne on the producer's chair are his Sad Flutes partners Michael Peyser and Lee Joo-ick.

Production is said to employ extensive green screen techniques while post-production will involve the use of effects houses including Weta Digital in New Zealand and others in Korea, India and the States.

"We draw on two great milieux, the Samurai movie and the Western," Peyser stated. "We will deliver a stylized, partly anime feel, with the techniques of '300,' but a look that is brighter."

From now on, New Line Cinema has to look for a new actor to play Snake Plissken in its "Escape from New York." That's simply because Gerard Butler is no longer joining the project to portray the role.

It appears that nothing would stop Paris Hilton from visiting Rwanda, not even organization restructuring. The socialite has, despite the recent cancellation of her upcoming visit to Rwanda, said she's heading for the African country sometime next year.

In an interview posted on the Website of the syndicated entertainment TV show "Extra," Paris said "I want to travel the world. I feel like there's a lot I can do, and a lot I can do to help."

Paris then went on saying, "We were supposed to be going in November, but then the charity is doing restructuring and figuring things out. It's going to be for next year. I know (Rwanda) went through a lot of traumatic experiences, and I feel like if I go there, I can help save some people's lives."

Paris announced last month she'll be going to Rwanda in November after finishing work on her movie, "Repo! The Genetic Opera," upon being invited by Scott Lazerson of Playing for Good organization, which he helped found in 2006 to help high-end business and entertainment personalities become involved in a variety of charities benefiting children and families in need.

However, The Playing for Good Foundation announced last Thursday October 25th the cancellation of the highly anticipated trip.

"Due to the restructuring of the Playing for Good Foundation, the philanthropic trip to Rwanda that the foundation had previously planned with Paris Hilton has been postponed," the organization said in a statement.

Pierce Brosnan Under Investigation for Alleged Battery

Los Angeles police are investigating Pierce Brosnan for an alleged scuffle with a photographer in Malibu.

The former James Bond actor was with his kids in a Malibu mall outside Mexican restaurant Casa Escobar last Friday October 26th when photographer Barry Rosen began taking pictures of him. Rosen, as reported by TMZ.com, says Pierce then said, "Why don't you get a real f**king job."

Rosen then began complimenting Brosnan on his performance in his James Bond roles, and shortly thereafter the actor allegedly told him "Why don't you f**k off, mate" and punched him in the ribs. A source in the know said Rosen then reacted by kicking Brosnan in the stomach.

Los Angeles County sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said, "We are investigating Mr. Brosnan, who is alleged to have committed a battery," but declined to give more details because the investigation is still ongoing.

Whitmore, moreover, revealed results of the investigation will be referred to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office for a decision on whether to bring charges. Brosnan's spokeswoman was not immediately available for comment.

Judge Denied Britney Spears' Custody Bid, Granted Her Monitored Visits with Sons

Britney Spears' bid for custody of her two young sons has been denied.

Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon issued a court's ruling Tuesday October 30th, stated in it that Spears will not regain custody of her kids just yet, and is instead granted three times monitored visits a week; two from noon to 7 p.m. and one from noon to 10 a.m. the next morning, with sons Sean Preston and Jayden James.

Spears, in addition to the monitored visits, is required to continue meeting with a court-appointed parenting coach, and she and former husband Kevin Federline are ordered to figure out holiday schedules with the kids. The ruling, moreover, states Spears must put her sons in car seats when they are being driven.
