Scorsese Takes DiCaprio To Shutter Island

Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio are getting together for yet another movie. Variety says Scorsese will direct and DiCaprio will star in Shutter Island.
The movie is a period piece set in 1954 and has DiCaprio playing a U.S. Marshall named Teddy Daniels. It follows Daniels as he investigates the disappearance of a criminally insane murderess. She’s hiding in a remote place named Shutter Island. I guess there’s a big Wolf Camera there or something.
The script is based on a book by Dennis Lehane, who also wrote Mystic River. You remember Mystic River, it was that suicidally depressing Clint Eastwood movie. If Shutter Island is as fun as Mystic River I may have to bring a noose with me to the screening.
Luckily, this is Scorsese and DiCaprio and so far almost everything they’ve done together has been gold. They’ve already done three together, and Shutter Island is just one of several new film projects they have on the way. A few years ago Scorsese was on the verge of retirement, and now working with DiCaprio has re-invigorated Marty. He’s as vital as ever and we’re the winners.
