Underworld 3 Happening As A Prequel

They’re calling it Underworld 3: The Rise of the Lycans. I can’t help but wonder if there was a Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines poster hanging on the wall somewhere near the cubicle of the guy who came up with it.
The bad news, aside from the fact that this is being made, is that it’s being made without Kate Beckinsale. She’s having nothing to do with it. Similarly her husband Len Wiseman, who directed the first two films, will step back and take a producer credit for this one while creature effects creator Patrick Tatopoulos takes the helm. Michael Sheen however, will be back as Lycan head honcho Lucian. Also involved will the great Bill Nighy, who was probably the best thing about the franchise so far. New to the cast is Rhona Mitra, playing Viktor’s daughter and secret lover of Lucian.
The film will follow the storyline hinted at in the first movie. Set in the Dark Ages, it will tell the tragic and terribly romantic tale of the Lycan/werewolf Lucian who falls in love with a vampire princess. There’s potential here for something good, both Sheen and Nighy were great in the first film and the flashbacks we saw of this era in their history were interesting. But Underworld 2 was awful and this feels like a franchise that’s already run out of steam.

Wonder Woman Is A Blonde

Still, I guess it’s my job to report this stuff, no matter how much it beats me down. So I’m just going to spit this latest casting rumor out and be done with it. An actress named Teresa Palmer may have been cast as Wonder Woman in JLA, according to Moviehole. They seem pretty certain about it, so maybe this is it and we can stop reporting on at least this role. Thank god.
Teresa played the blonde girl Vanessa in The Grudge 2. She’s mostly done bit parts in movie’s you’ve seen, or bigger parts in movie’s you haven’t. She’s 21 years old and 5’5” which makes her too young and too short to play Wonder Woman… if Warner Brothers was making a movie that was at all faithful to the characters rather than a film designed to sell discount boxes of cereal. Sadly, it’s the latter that’s going on here and not the former.

Aliens + Predator

USA Today has been gifted with a gallery of images from Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem, which show off a brand new creature created for the face-off sequel. It’s called the “predalien”, and as its name suggests the guys in their creature shop went nuts and started sticking alien parts on a predator. They’ve combined the two creatures into a new monstrosity, and I guess they aren’t all that interested in keeping it a secret.
Along with the images they include some predalien fun facts. For instance they reveal that the predalien doesn’t lay eggs which produce face huggers, it just regurgitates in its victim’s mouth. Apparently the face hugger-less predalien leads a pack of creatures to a small Colorado town to fight humans and predators. So it looks like there won’t be so many actual Aliens for the predator to fight in this one. Just mutant freaks.
Personally, I’m not that impressed with this combo creature. Mostly, it looks like a predator with a tail. I’ve posted a couple of the predalien images with this story, but to see them all click over to USA Today.

Channing Tatum Steps Up For Sequel

In fact, not only is Tatum in the movie, he kicks off the new trailer for the movie, now titled Step Up 2 The Streets (it works as both a sequel number and part of the title – get it?). Before the sequel’s real story or cast members are shown, Tatum gets to break loose with some dance moves himself. After talking to Briana Evigan’s character briefly (thereby passing the proverbial torch), he’s gone, leading to that assumption about a cameo appearance.
The trailer is up over at Apple and is actually worth catching on the big screen. Much like the first film, the picture looks promising for dance numbers and music, although I wouldn’t count on much of a plot. Of course, the first one didn’t have much of a plot either and it was still a lot of fun.

More New Footage in Fifth Beowulf TV Spot

Placed on downloads.paramount.com, the new TV spot is available in QuickTime in low, medium, and high resolution. It can also be accessed via Beowulf Trailer section at AceShowbiz.

Hitting both conventional and IMAX theaters on November 16, 2007, "Beowulf" uses similar photo-realistic version of the "performance capture" technique Zemeckis applied in his 2004 work "The Polar Express." Story is adapted from an Anglo-Saxon epic poem about the titular hero who must fight and defeat a monster named Grendel also his mother, who begins killing out of revenge.

First Shots from Harry Potter 6 London Set!

The twosome were caught sharing a laugh during a shooting break for scenes at the home of Horace Slughorn, played by Jim Broadbent, in Budleigh Babberton. Sequence filmed reportedly saw Harry and Dumbledore convince the former Potions Master to return teaching at Hogwarts after his retirement in 1980s.
Shots taken funnily spot Gambon, who reprises his role as the Hogwarts' headmaster, wearing a beard protector while also surprisingly reveal the actor to be a smoker. Radcliffe, in the meantime, was seen without the glasses he is enticed to put on in his role as the bespectacled teen wizard.
The sixth installment of the "Harry Potter" film series, "Half-Blood Prince" brings back David Yates on the director's chair with a scheduled theatrical release on November 21, 2008. Author of the original book series J.K. Rowling recently unveiled shocking statement saying Dumbledore is gay, adding she has already passed a note to Yates upon finding a reference in the film's script to a girl who once was of interest to Dumbledore.

Jennifer Lopez's "Deseo" Perfume Ad

On the use of the Spanish term to name the perfume, Lopez explained "I have a lot of synergy happening in my life right now that is taking me back to my roots and to everything that I'm about and how I was raised. This is what I really find my heart is into. It's the first time I have decided to use a Spanish word for one of our fragrances. We really look at where I am at in my life and what is important to me at that time. But the one thing that we have always concentrated on from the beginning is to be as truthful as we can."
The scent, which has been developed in collaboration with Givaudan perfumers Ellen Molner and Jim Krivda, according to WWD.com is a mixture of bamboo leaves, garden yuzu, Sicilian bergamot and freesia. The theme, which was inspired by a night-time walk through J-Lo's garden, continues in the middle notes of star jasmine, pink geranium flower, orange blossom and French mimosa. The base notes finish with warm amber, oak moss, musks, sandalwood, atlas cedarwood, patchouli and mineral accord.
"Deseo" will be available in two sizes, 1.7 oz. and 3.4 oz. and will cost $46 and $56 respectively. There will also be a body lotion which will cost $27.50 for 6.7 oz.
Also hinted on the possibility to create the masculine counterpart of "Deseo," Lopez furthermore revealed "I've always known that I wanted to launch a fragrance for men...Since Deseo is all about desire and sensuality, it seems perfect to develop a male counterpart for it". The fragrance for men will thus be Lopez's first masculine fragrance should it come to realization.

Rapper T.I. Released on $2 Million in Cash Bond and $1 Million in Property

T.I. walked out of the federal courthouse in downtown Atlanta after posting a $3 million bail; $2 million in cash bond and $1 million in property. As of the cash bond, it reportedly came in the form of two cashier's checks provided by T.I. and his record label Atlantic Records.
Claimed to be feeling "great" now that he's out of jail and is looking "forward to getting this (case) behind me and we move forward," T.I. was ordered by U.S. Magistrate Judge Alan Baverman to remain at his home in Henry County, Georgia, except for medical appointments and court appearances.
T.I., additionally, also was required to surrender his passport, not own any guns and stay away from witnesses and informants in the case. The only people who will be allowed to live with him are his girlfriend and children. Visitors must be approved by the court.
That's not all, a private monitoring company will be placed at T.I.'s home, and he will be subject to drug, alcohol and weapons searches at their discretion. The ATF will also be allowed to search the residence. The rapper will as well be monitored 24 hours a day by a private monitoring service that he himself must pay for.
T.I. is warned by Judge Alan Baverman that he could possibly face "a number of very bad things," including his bond being revoked and any sentence he receives later being potentially increased, should he gets into any trouble or violates the terms of his release.

Orlando Bloom Cleared of Charges in Car Crash

Los Angeles officials have on Friday October 26th cleared the movie hunk of hit-and-run and drunken driving charges stemmed from an October 12th car crash that injured his two passengers.
Jane Robison, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles District Attorney's office, said it will not prosecute Bloom because of "insufficient evidence." "There was insufficient evidence he was trying to get away," Robison said in a statement.
In the D.A.'s Charge Evaluation Worksheet, it is stated that Bloom was being chased by paparazzi in four cars, two of which tried to cut him off. It said that after the wreck, Bloom walked about 60 feet (20 meters) to avoid photographers before then returned to the crash scene.

Britney Spears' Custody Bid Has Been Put on Hold Until Next Week

The former couple was there at the courtroom Friday October 26th for the next hearing of their custody battle of sons Sean Preston and Jayden James. Sad to say that the pair will have to wait couple more days to have the issue finally comes to an official end.
While little we can report about the closed hearing, K-Fed's lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan told reporters after the hearing that Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon was expected to issue a written ruling by next Tuesday October 30th after hearing extensive testimony on a number of issues in the case.
Spears herself remained tight-lipped after the hearing, whereas her attorney Sorrell Trope simply told reporters, "something has changed, but I can't say what."
