Zooey Says Yes To Jim Carrey

Zooey Deschanel is building up her comedic scorecard. She’s already appeared opposite Will Ferrell in a holiday classic (Elf) and in one of the good Tim Allen movies (Big Trouble). Now she’s said “yes” to appearing opposite Jim Carrey in his upcoming picture Yes Man.
The news comes from The Hollywood Reporter who reports Deschanel will be appearing in the picture in the lead female romantic role opposite Carrey and alongside Bradley Cooper, who plays Carrey’s best friend in the movie. As for Carrey, he plays a guy who decides to make a change in his life and say “yes” to everything that comes his way. Hilarity, of course, ensues. Think of it like Liar, Liar only the protagonist has more control over his own life.
I’ve enjoyed Zooey Deschanel in her previous roles, including The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. I do have to wonder if she’s not a little young to play opposite Carrey; there’s almost a twenty-year age difference between the two. Then again, Carrey’s only a few years older than Farrell, and that relationship sold on screen, although part of that might have been due to Ferrell’s childlike demeanor in the picture.
